In Ant Conquest the game map(s) will have seasons which will be based on real time changes. So the time between one winter and another in Ant Conquest will be 365 actual real time days.
Each season will gradually increase and decrease available resources per tile, and also will affect the probability of certain Random Events occurring.
For example in Summer grasslands will have much more heat, much less water, and generally less food. While in winter they will have much less heat, much more water, and much less food. In spring however they will have more water, much more food, and a growing level of heat. You get the idea.
Additionally, in Spring the chances of sudden storms (with associated risk of floods and/or lightning strikes causing fires) increases.
